A panel discussion with Professor Chris Bunce, Dr Farhat Khanim and members of the blood cancer community.
This exclusive session will kick off a series of Virtual Lab Tours which gives you, our supporters, the opportunity to hear directly from our researchers. This is the first of three talks which are taking place over July and August with the final session taking place in September during Blood Cancer Awareness Month.
The first in our series of talks focuses on myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). People with AML and MDS can develop severe and sometimes life-threatening infections as a consequence of having an immune system that has been weakened by their disease.
Professor Chris Bunce and Dr Farhat Khanim are investigating whether these infections are making the cancer worse as they think they may cause the cancer to become resistant to treatment. This work could change how AML and MDS are treated and managed, helping to give everyone the best possible chance of survival.
Join us on Thursday, 16 July to hear from Professor Bunce and Dr Khanim along with the Blood Cancer UK team. Come ready with your questions and have the opportunity to pose them directly to the team.
