If you’ve been affected by blood cancer, and would like to share your experiences, we'd love to hear from you. Because your story matters.

Whether you’re living with or after blood cancer, or a family member or friend is, your experiences are important and can have a huge impact.

Your story has the power to unite, inspire and resonate with people affected by blood cancer and beyond. Not only could writing be a cathartic experience for you, but it could also offer comfort to those facing similar situations who might otherwise feel alone.

What would you like to write about?

Whether it’s reflecting on your own blood cancer diagnosis and treatment, or to give advice to fellow carers, there are plenty of things you can talk about.

Perhaps you’ve got an uplifting story to share, or an exciting fundraising event you’re preparing for. If you need a little inspiration, check out our news and blogs section.

Whatever it is, we’re all ears!

How will your story be used?

Here are some of the ways you can share your experiences:

Write for us

If you’re thinking about writing a blog for our website, here’s some useful tips to help get those creative juices flowing.

Of course, it doesn’t have to be a blog. It can be a poem or a post for social media. Your story could also feature in our email marketing.

Feature in our fundraising materials

We may ask if you’d be open to featuring your story in our fundraising and print materials, such as in our leaflets. Your story can help us to raise awareness of the issues being faced by our community and highlight the important role of our fundraising.

Media opportunities

Media opportunities might involve speaking to a journalist and providing a quote for local and national newspapers.

It could also involve taking part in live broadcast opportunities, such as on the TV and radio. This will help us to raise awareness of blood cancer and reach more people that may need our support.

If you’re open to one and not the other, please click ‘yes’ on this form, and we’ll make a note.

Our promise to you

We respect that it’s your story to tell, and we want it to feel authentic to you. We’ll be here to offer you support and answer any of your questions. While we may edit your work, we’ll only publish what you’re happy with.

We want you to feel comfortable with what you say, and however you choose to say it. We’d like to assure you that we wouldn’t use your story without asking you first. You can also choose where you’d like your story to be shared, such as on our website or on social media.

Although we can’t guarantee your story will be used, we thank you for giving us invaluable insight that will help inform our work.

What next?

Someone from our External Communications Team will be in touch with you within 10 working days. This could be to ask you follow up questions, and to see if you might be open to telling us a bit more about your experiences.

We may reach out to you from time to time to see if you’re happy to share your experiences once again. This could involve featuring your experiences in our fundraising appeals, and potentially speaking to the media.

We may also ask if you’d be open to being filmed or photographed in line with a campaign or event we’re hosting. Of course, it’s completely up to you, and we will respect your decision.
