Our work wouldn't be possible without our incredible community, including people like you who choose to donate and fundraise on our behalf.

Support from companies and organisations

We were honoured to receive £2 million from Brit Insurance for myeloma research - one of our largest ever corporate donations. We welcomed many new supporters, including companies who chose us as their charity.

Amwins, My Peak Challenge and Swiss Re raised over £300,000 through activities from walks and bake sales to mountain climbing. These partnerships also help spread awareness about blood cancer to wider audiences.

We received over £500,000 from pharmaceutical companies to fund our support services and campaigning work. This included money from Bristol Myers Squibb for an important project to improve clinical trial access for people from Black and Pakistani communities.

Regular and one off donations

We're grateful for every donation, large or small. We know many supporters are motivated by their personal experience of blood cancer, and those experiences drive our work.

We were especially humbled to receive £7.5 million from people who left gifts in their Wills this year. The number of people pledging to support us this way also grew by over 40%.

Through these generous gifts, supporters are leaving an incredible legacy and helping bring forward the day when no-one dies of blood cancer.

Events and community fundraising

We welcomed 960 new supporters to our community of people raising money in their own way. From Glasgow to Jersey, this amazing community raised £2 million between them and inspired us with their enthusiasm.

We saw some exceptional fundraising events. Our Fireflies Cycling team raised £86,000. This year's Laugh for Leukaemia comedy show raised £12,500, bringing the 10-year total to £70,000.

Other standout events included:

  • October – Our new Walk the World event challenged people to walk the distance around the world together – one kilometre for each of the 40,000 people diagnosed with blood cancer in the UK each year. Over 500 people signed up and raised £127,000.
  • December – Our Christmas campaign included several activities, ending with a carol concert at St Paul's Cathedral that raised over £200,000. Hundreds of people joined this evening of music, with readings by Timothy Spall, Sienna Miller and Alastair Campbell.
  • March – More than 2,000 people joined our annual Walk of Light in Birmingham or took on their own walks across the UK. Record numbers took part, with 80% supporting us for the first time.

Adapting our approach

Like many charities, we faced a challenge this year when Meta changed its advertising policies, making it harder to raise money on platforms like Facebook. We're watching for updates to make sure our campaigns are set up in the best way.

Next year, we'll keep testing new ways to raise money to see which activities work best, changing our approach based on what we learn. This will include a new appeal to support vital research into the hardest to treat blood cancers.
