Birthday Bash Fundraiser

Birthday Bash Fundraiser step-by-step:

Step one: Decide how you’d like to mark your birthday, whether it’s organising a party to celebrate with your family and friends, setting yourself a fundraising challenge in the month of your birthday or across the year, or asking for donations instead of gifts.

Previous fundraisers have organised a Charity Ball to mark their birthday, planned a birthday tea party or completed challenges over the year.

Step two: Sign up to get your fundraising pack. You'll get an instant digital guide in your inbox, plus an optional pack in the post.

Step three: Time to make it official! Choose your date and location and set up your JustGiving page ready for donations, or you could set up a birthday fundraiser on Facebook.

Step four: Use your free fundraising pack to help you plan the details, invite others to join you and to share your birthday plans with your friends, family and colleagues.

Step five: Celebrate your birthday by dedicating it to raising money. Every pound you raise takes us closer to beating blood cancer.

The impact of your donations

  • £100 could help keep our online Forum running for a day, giving people a safe space to connect with others.
  • Could fund a Clinical Trials Support Nurse to help find a clinical trial for three people with blood cancer.
  • Could fund a month of lab experiments to help researchers find better treatments for a specific blood cancer.

Tips from our fundraisers

David on his birthday run

“I persuaded all 13 members of my immediate family, children, partners and grandchildren to join me in walking or running the Exmouth parkrun, on what was the day before my 80th birthday. I set an initial target of £1,500 but was amazed that we were supported so much that our final total was £3,283 from 115 donations, it was a great family occasion and gave much more purpose to my 80th birthday celebrations."
