Tips from our fundraisers
“Ten years ago I was diagnosed with advanced Mantle Cell Lymphoma and had intensive treatment including a stem cell transplant. Recently, I completed my challenge to climb all 282 Munro hills in Scotland, and I raised over £3,000 for Blood Cancer UK. My advice to anyone fundraising is to have an interesting story to tell and a big contacts list. Don’t be afraid to ask for sponsorship."
Frequently Asked Questions - Missions that Matter
No, there’s no minimum. Every pound you raise makes a real difference and we’re genuinely grateful for your support. Fundraising targets are there to inspire you, not to add pressure, so even if you don’t reach your goal, your efforts still help fund life changing research and support for people affected by blood cancer.
It's helpful to let your network know when you've set an event date and this is a great time to share your fundraising page too. Don't be afraid to share your page with others more than once and consider key dates such as pay day!
Small actions can have a big impact, for example - updating your online fundraising page with new photos or quick progress updates can spark fresh donations. Sharing your page more than once, especially as you get closer to your event encourages people to donate. You'll receive lots more tips once you have signed up for your fundraising pack!
A simple post about why you’re fundraising, with a photo and the link to your page, is a great place to start. Share a few updates as you go, because most people need a reminder before they donate. Quick moments on stories or reels can also help you reach more people
We will send you your collectable medal in the post once the funds you have raised are paid in. This is usually around 4 weeks after your event.
Our Supporter Relations Team is here for you. If you have any questions or need a hand with anything, you can call them for free on 0808 2080 888 or email [email protected] and they’ll be happy to help.
