Join us as a Community Collection Volunteer
As a Community Collection Volunteer, you’ll represent Blood Cancer UK by organising charity bucket collections at places local to you, like supermarkets, sports clubs, and train stations. You’ll lead a small team, raise vital funds, and inspire support in your community. You’ll be supported by a Regional Manager with training, materials, and guidance every step of the way.
What you’ll do
- Apply to host and support bucket collections at local venues
- Invite friends and contacts to join as collection volunteers
- Engage the public, share Blood Cancer UK’s message, and encourage donations
- Ensure all donations are processed correctly
What you’ll bring
- A passion for fundraising and raising awareness of blood cancer
- Confidence in speaking with the public and engaging in conversation
- A reliable, flexible approach and a willingness to get involved
- Enthusiasm, strong organisation, and motivation to make a difference
- Comfort handling cash during collections
- Basic computer skills to help with simple admin tasks

FAQs: Volunteering as a Community Collector Volunteer
The minimum age for this role is 18.
Supporting as a community collector is an unpaid role, but you can claim pre-approved volunteer expenses.
This is an ongoing role with flexible fundraising opportunities throughout the year. You can apply for venues and encourage others to join your collections at times that suit you.
We ask that you host 3 to 4 collections per year, with each collection taking 2 to 4 hours.
