Volunteer as a Community Fundraiser

As a Community Fundraising Volunteer, you’ll represent Blood Cancer UK in your local area—raising funds and awareness for life-saving research. This flexible role lets you organise events like quiz nights, approach local businesses, and run fundraising activities that suit your schedule. You’ll be supported by a Regional Manager with training, materials, and guidance every step of the way.

What you’ll do

  • Organise local fundraising events like quiz nights or coffee mornings
  • Run stalls at fetes and festivals, or host activities such as tombolas
  • Apply for and support bucket collections, encouraging others to take part
  • Chat to the public about Blood Cancer UK and promote donations
  • Safely deposit funds and complete risk assessments with support

What you’ll bring

  • Passion for fundraising and raising awareness of blood cancer
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with your local community
  • A reliable, adaptable, and proactive approach
  • Good organisation and enthusiasm for getting involved
  • Confidence handling cash and using a computer for basic admin tasks

The minimum age for this role is 18.

Supporting as a community fundraiser is an unpaid role, but you can claim pre-approved volunteer expenses.

This is a flexible, year-round role. You can choose the times that work best for you to organise and run events. We ask that you commit to hosting at least one event per year.
