As a Community Group Secretary, you’ll help keep your local group organised, connected, and running smoothly - all while supporting life-saving research and people affected by blood cancer.

What you’ll do

  • Share updates from Blood Cancer UK to keep your group informed
  • Take notes and organise meetings
  • Thank donors and engage local supporters
  • Prepare event materials using our simple online tools
  • Support the Group Lead with planning and fundraising
  • Represent Blood Cancer UK and raise awareness locally.

You’ll receive full training and support to feel confident in your role.

What you’ll bring

You don’t need experience - just passion and a desire to make a difference. We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Strong organisation skills and reliability to keep things running smoothly
  • Clear communication skills to keep everyone informed
  • Attention to detail for accurate note-taking and follow-up
  • A friendly, team-oriented attitude.

The minimum age for this role is 18.

Supporting as a Community Group Secretary is an unpaid role, but you can claim pre-approved volunteer expenses.

This role is completely flexible - give as much or as little time as you can. Typically, it may involve a few hours a month.
