FAQs: Volunteering as a Forum Support Volunteer
The minimum age for this role is 18.
Supporting others as a Forum Support Volunteer is an unpaid role, but you can claim pre-approved volunteer expenses.
This role is open to anyone with personal experience of blood cancer—whether through your own diagnosis or supporting a loved one.
Before you start, we ask that you:
- Attend a one-hour interview
- Complete a one-day online induction and training
Once you’re in the role, we’d appreciate your help with:
- 2–5 hours per week, all from home
- Attending quarterly training sessions (up to 2 hours each)
- Regular check-ins with your Volunteer Point of Contact (about 1 hour each)
