itsu and Blood Cancer UK
itsu are raising vital funds for us by donating 10 pence from every delicious veggie dragon roll sold across their ninety UK stores
About the partnership
The partnership got off to a strong start, with itsu stamping every one of the tickets for their delicious veggie dragon rolls with our logo and information. This type of awareness raising work is absolutely vital, with only 1% of people being ‘very confident’ that they can identify common symptoms of blood cancer and over half the population not knowing any symptoms at all.
And they’re not stopping there. itsu are also donating 10p from the sale of each veggie dragon roll to Blood Cancer UK, with the money raised funding medical research to improve treatments and help us offer expert advice to anyone affected by blood cancer.
The sushi experts are on a roll with their fundraising
On 4 July 2019, itsu employees swapped the dragon rolls for dragon boats, as they competed in Blood Cancer UK's annual Dragon Boat Race down the Thames. Their two aptly-named boats - Salmon Dragon Roll and Veggie Dragon Roll – raced teams of employees from other businesses across the City and Canary Wharf including Morgan Stanley, Bloomberg and Barclays. Not only did itsu prove themselves ferocious competition on the water, but they also raised over £3,600 for blood cancer research, smashing their target! A massive well done and thank you!
