Starting a local Community Group is a really great way to raise vital funds to support blood cancer research and those affected by blood cancer, whilst also meeting new people and having lots of fun!
Starting a group doesn't have to mean lots of people or lots of hours, every single person and every penny raised can make a huge difference in bringing us closer to help beat blood cancer. From putting out collection tins in local shops, holding bucket collections in supermarkets or hosting your own fundraising events, our friendly Regional Relationships Team will help and guide you every step of the way. The Chichester Fundraising Group has raised an amazing £876,000 in the 40 years since they were set up.
The Whitstable Branch has raised £150,000 for research into blood cancer through events in their local community. The Branch was set up in 1973 and would love to continue into the future.
Our Medway Fundraising Group was set up over 20 years ago and has been a hub of fundraising ever since. The group is heavily involved with local and national fundraising events. To date they have raised over £106,000.
Set up in 1990, our Maidstone Branch has raised £360,000 for research into blood cancer.
The Group was founded in 1972 and over that time has raised over £330,000. Along with fundraising, the Group is very keen to raise awareness of blood cancer in the local community.
The Branch was set up over 30 years ago and is very active in the Tunbridge Wells area. They have raised over £138,000 in that time.
Our Horsham Branch was set up 25 years ago, after the loss of a family friend. The Branch is very active in the community, hosting open garden events and street collections as well as more social evening events. They've raised £230,000 in this time and are determined to raise so much more.
The Gibraltar Branch was set up in 1983 and has raised £330,000 in that time by hosting many events and raising awareness.
The Guildford and District Branch is a very active group, raising money in the local area with events such as art exhibitions and local lunches. They have raised over £350,000 over the past 40 years.
A new Community Group in the South East, set up in January 2020, with events planned and already this year have raised an incredible £1800! Set up in memory of a beloved friend who died of blood cancer, this Group is also keen on raising awareness in the local community.
Our Crawley Borough Community Group is newly formed as of January 2020 and has already got events planned to raise funds and awareness of Blood Cancer in the Crawley area.
Our Brentwood, Hutton and Billericay Branch started in 1965 and the active committee organises a range of fundraising events each year. Their fundraising total stands at over £915,000 and they show no signs of slowing down!
Started in 1991, our Newbury Fundraising Group works with the West Berkshire Classic Vehicle Club to raise money to beat blood cancer. Organising an annual Classic Vehicle Show in August is the Group's main focus, in 2019 this event raised just over £18,000!
Started in 1987, our Marlow Branch organises fundraising collections. Their last one raised an almighty £1792.48, bringing their fundraising total to just over £74,000.
Our Ware and District Branch was formed in 1965, the dedicated committee continues to organise regular fundraising collections in the area and has raised over £350,000.
Started in 1996, our Southend Branch has raised almost £1million, with much of this incredible amount raised at the Southend Bikeathon event.
Our newly formed Colchester Community Group is busy organising their first event, so watch this space!

Our Jersey Branch has raised an incredible £1million since they formed in 1979. The Branch organises three large events in Jersey - a Kids Triathlon, a Golf Day and an Opera Evening, raising a fantastic £30,000 to £40,000 each year, but are always looking at new opportunities to fundraise.
