There's currently a 60% retirement rate of consultant haematologists in Wales, responsible for blood cancer care but also all blood transfusions in Wales.

Improve data quality

Due to poor data quality, at the moment we can't say with confidence how many people in Wales have blood cancer.

Improve the diagnosis experience

Blood cancer symptoms are generally vague and so harder to recognise, and 29% of people with blood cancer in Wales had to go to their GP three or more times before being referred to a specialist.
