How referral works
It’s quick and simple to join the service and start referring patients to Blood Cancer UK. Register your details to get started.

What patients receive
Once you refer a patient, they will receive a confirmation email from us. After that, they will get weekly support emails covering helpful topics such as:
- Understanding a blood cancer diagnosis
- Treatment options, managing side effects, and preventing infections
- Support and resources for family and friends
- Personal stories from the community and ways to connect with others facing similar challenges.
These emails will also guide them to additional resources and information on our website.
For those who are unable to access email
One of our Support Nurses will call them at a time that works best for them. We also offer a telephone interpreter service, providing support in 170 languages.

Support we offer
We provide tailored support to people diagnosed with blood cancer and their families, helping them better understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and care pathway. Our services complement the clinical care you provide, offering additional guidance and connection beyond the hospital setting.
Emotional and practical support
Our experienced support nurses offer personalised emotional and practical support to patients and their loved ones. Whether it’s answering questions, providing reassurance, or signposting to trusted resources, we’re here to help via phone, email, or even social media. We also offer a telephone interpreter service in over 170 languages, ensuring inclusive support for every patient, regardless of background or language.
Peer support
We offer patients and their loved ones the chance to connect with others who share similar blood cancer diagnoses and experiences. Through our online community forum, peer support webpages, and involvement opportunities such as attending focus groups and events. We can help foster meaningful connections that can reduce isolation and build confidence.
Trusted blood cancer information
Our blood cancer information is written with medical professionals and people affected by blood cancer, to make sure it’s accurate, clear and trustworthy.
Clinical trial support
Our clinical trials support nurses work directly with patients to help them explore their options around trial participation. They assist with searching for relevant trials, clarifying eligibility, and supporting informed conversations between patients and their clinical teams.
This service complements your care by empowering patients with trusted information and guidance making clinical trial access clearer and more approachable.
