EuroNet-PHL-C2 trial
This trial is looking at treatment for children and young people who have Hodgkin lymphoma. Thanks to research current treatment methods are highly successful but can have long-term side effects. The aim of this trial is to find a way to reduce the long-term side effects of treatment and reduce the risk of the cancer coming back.
The context
Children and young people with Hodgkin lymphoma are usually given chemotherapy, but sometimes additional radiotherapy is needed to treat their blood cancer. However, radiotherapy can be extremely harsh, particularly in children and young people, and can have long-term side effects. For this reason, doctors are looking for ways to produce better and kinder treatments for children and young people with blood cancer.
The project
In this trial, researchers want to individually tailor chemotherapy treatments for each child and young person. Researchers want to see if by tailoring chemotherapy treatments they can reduce the need for radiotherapy treatments and avoid the long-term side effects of radiotherapy.
The aims
Researchers want to find out if by tailoring chemotherapy it is possible to reduce the need for radiotherapy treatments in children and young people
