The Alternative Hair Show has been raising money to beat blood cancer since 1983. This year they’re back bigger than ever!

Event details

The show includes 14 Featured Artists and the return of the International Visionary Award Live in Three Categories; Cut and Colour, Avant Garde and Mens.

This year marks the new era of the Alternative Hair Show with a much more intimate venue for our audience, allowing them to be very close to the stage.

History

In 1983, hairdresser Tony Rizzo lost his son to leukaemia and decided to engage his friends and co-workers in hairdressing by creating a charity fundraising event. The Alternative Hair Show was first staged at Londono's Camden Theatre in October 1938. The show raised £7,500, which was donated to Blood Cancer UK.

The show continued to grow, until it became one of the world's leading hair shows. Proceeds of the shows, now in excess of £12.5 million, have continued to be donated to Blood Cancer UK and other charities.
